Online Application

There is a multi-stage application process associated with this program. When a student enters his or her name and email address, the application has a "registered" status. At any point a student may save the information input into the fields. Once ALL the fields are filled in with the required information and requested documents are uploaded, the student will hit the "submit" button at the bottom of the application. At this time, a link will be sent to your guidance counselor and your teacher asking them to upload their letters of recommendation. They will not receive this link until you have submitted your application. An application will be "complete" when the letter of recommendation is submitted by a teacher or a counselor of the student's choice. *Note* If you receive a notification that your application is not complete but you know you completed all the fields, check to make sure that you hit the "submit" button.

Grade-Level and GPA Verification

As part of the application process, your school guidance counselor will be contacted, via the email address you provide, to submit information verifying your grade level and current GPA.

Letter of Recommendation

One letter of recommendation is due on or before November 16, 2017, and should be provided by a school teacher or counselor. If home schooled, the letter can be from someone who can attest to the applicant's academic qualifications. Once the student has submitted his or her application, the system will email the specified individuals instructions on how to submit an online letter of recommendation on the applicant's behalf. Please inform the teacher or counselor that they will be receiving an email from notices@spacegrant.net with the letter of recommendation request. All letters of recommendation must be submitted via the online application system. Important note: It is the responsibility of the student to follow up with the person providing the letter of recommendation to ensure the recommendation is received by the November 16th deadline. Please have the teacher or counselor check their SPAM folder if he or she indicates she has not received the email.
